Kansas City Icehawks House
The Kansas City Icehawks House Hockey Program provides a fun and developmental hockey experience for players in the 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and High School age divisions. Focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game, the program offers a supportive environment where players can learn, improve, and compete alongside their teammates. Whether new to hockey or building on existing skills, every player has the opportunity to grow and enjoy the game.
evaluations
To support balanced team formation and provide the best possible experience for all players, the Kansas City Icehawks will conduct player evaluations prior to the start of the season. Evaluation dates, times, and additional details are currently being finalized and will be shared with registered families as they become available.

For the 2026-27 USA Hockey season, each division would include players born between the following dates:
- 6U: 2020 Birth Year & Younger
- 8U: January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2019
- 10U: January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2017
- 12U: January 1, 2014 – December 31, 2015
- 14U: January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2013
- High School: January 1, 2008 – December 31, 2011
games
The Icehawks House Hockey Program competes against other local Kansas City-area hockey organizations throughout the season.
All home games will be played at AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk. Depending on division and scheduling, away games may be played at Carriage Club (Kansas City, MO), Independence Community Ice Center (Independence, MO), Kansas City Ice Center (Shawnee, KS), Line Creek Community Center (Kansas City, MO), and Bode Ice Arena (St. Joseph, MO).
Game schedules will be shared with families prior to the start of the season.
practices
Icehawks House teams will practice twice per week throughout the fall and winter season. Practices will focus on skill development, skating, hockey fundamentals, game awareness, and building confidence in a fun and positive environment.
All practices will take place at AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk. Players will receive consistent instruction designed to support individual growth while reinforcing teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game throughout the season.
league
Icehawks House teams compete in the Kansas City Youth Hockey League (KCYHL), the area's primary recreational youth hockey league. The KCYHL provides players with the opportunity to compete against other local hockey organizations in a fun, developmental, and team-oriented environment.
League play emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive game experience while allowing players to continue growing their love for the game throughout the season.
High School House teams compete in the Mid-America High School Hockey League (MAHSHL), facing teams from across the Kansas City area and throughout the region. The league provides players with a competitive environment that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive hockey experience throughout the season.
uniforms
The Kansas City Icehawks will host a preseason open house that will include jersey fittings and uniform ordering. New players will be fitted for their uniforms, while returning players will have the opportunity to order replacement jerseys and other uniform items as needed.
Additional details regarding the open house, sizing, and ordering process will be shared with registered families prior to the start of the season.Health Sports Park at Bluhawk in Overland Park, KS. Each team will practice two times per week, giving players consistent opportunities to develop their skills, strengthen teamwork, and prepare for competition.
2026-27 House program Fees
The following program fees apply for the upcoming fall/winter season. Fees are designed to be simple and inclusive, covering the core components of the season from start to finish.
Program fees include:
- Preseason development ice sessions
- All team practices throughout the season
- Home game ice and league participation
- Referee fees for regular season games
- Professional coaching and on-ice instruction
- Team game jerseys
- Certified athletic trainers for 14U players
Additional expenses such as replacement uniforms and team apparel may apply and will be communicated as needed.
