2025-2026 Season FAQs

FAQs

$100 Deposit for Registration

The $100 deposit was implemented to encourage early and accurate registration numbers, allowing us to plan appropriately for ice time, coaching, and team formation. Implementing this in June ensures returning members have a chance to secure their spot and aligns with our internal deadlines for confirming season logistics.

Refund Policy for the Deposit

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis and have historically been granted when unforeseen circumstances arise. There is no firm deadline for requesting a refund, and we remain committed to being understanding and flexible with our families when these situations occur.

Sibling Discount

Please reach out to mbeets.maha@gmail.com for your sibling discount code prior to registering.

Verification of MAHA Families Before July 1

We maintain a history of every player's registration and review all incoming entries. If a player registers and they are new to MAHA, we’ve communicated directly with those families to let them know their registration is on hold until after July 1. Learn to Play participants are automatically granted MAHA membership since that program is directly tied to the rink.

The higher-than-anticipated registration numbers are largely due to players who participated in Outlaw Spring Hockey, had a positive experience, and have now registered for the fall season as returning MAHA members.

Late Registration & MAHA Player Priority

There is no hard stop on registration, but we want to clarify that the cap was intentionally put in place to ensure returning MAHA families are prioritized, with a small allowance for growth in each age group. If, after July 1, a specific age group reaches its cap, registration for that group will be closed.

If you find that your age group is closed, you will have the opportunity to join a waitlist which will be opened to everyone. Please reach out to mbeets.maha@gmail.com with any questions.

At that point, discussions will take place with the age group directors to determine whether there is capacity and comfort to expand beyond the cap. We’ve also proactively communicated with KCYHA to make them aware that some of our age groups may reach capacity. They have provided us a contact so we can help families explore other playing opportunities if needed.

House Practice Schedules

House practices will begin in September once the second sheet of ice is installed. Practice nights will be on fixed evenings, likely following a similar schedule to last season. Final details will be confirmed once ice allocations are finalized with the rink.

House Coaches

Age division coaches will be identified and announced closer to season start.

Select Team Information

Select team details, including pricing and tryout dates, will be shared later in the summer, following a similar timeline as last season. We appreciate your patience and will ensure families have adequate notice to plan accordingly.
